PolyBuzz: is it free, does it allow NSFW, and what does it cost?
PolyBuzz is a character-roleplay chat platform with a very large library of user-created AI characters spanning anime, games, film/TV, romance and story scenarios. Users can chat for free, create and publish their own characters (including importing character cards from other platforms), and generate images. Is PolyBuzz free?
Chatting and character creation are free. The free tier shows ads. Membership adds ad-free use, unlimited voice listening, faster replies and queue priority, and access to stronger memory chat models. Coins (sold separately) pay for extended voice chat, regenerating replies, inspiration replies and memory scenes.
Does PolyBuzz allow NSFW?
PolyBuzz's community guidelines ban content that depicts pornography or sexual acts or solicits sexual content. Its FAQ says public NSFW content is strictly prohibited, recommended content goes through AI screening and human moderation, and characters can be flagged as a 'Violation' for pornographic content. Users enter a date of birth on first use, and the terms say the service is 18+ only.

Things to know
PolyBuzz's own documents are inconsistent on age: the Terms of Use say the service is strictly 18+, while the FAQ describes a dedicated 'Teen Mode' for children, and the Google Play listing is rated Mature 17+. The ToS says purchases must be made by an adult and refunds are not given for purchases made by a child by mistake. The iOS app was not found in US App Store search on 2026-10-20 even though the FAQ says it is on the App Store.
